I love Roald Dahl, he was a Children’s Author. He taught children that you could be whoever you wanted to be! Whether that was a badass little girl with powers, a little boy who makes potions, the friend of a giant, the owner of a chocolate factory, or even a worldwide fairytale.

Roald Dahl is amazing. The books were amazing, and the films are just as good. So, here are my top five!

  1. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

This has been my favourite ever since I watched it. I’ve been watching it since I was around four, and Gene Wilder is my favourite actor, ever.
  2. Fantastic Mr Fox (2009)

I love the Fantastic Mr Fox – my only issue: the lack of diversity in the film’s casting. I’m hoping that they make a reboot.
  3. James and the Giant Peach (1996)

I adore James and the Giant Peach! I don’t think I need to explain my obsession with this film further.
  4. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968)

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was co-written by Dahl and it was amazing!
  5. The BFG (2016)

The BFG was amazing as a kid, and when the remake came out… I fell in love.
