Healthy living is incredibly important. Not just for your physical health, but also for your mental health!
Studies have shown that what we eat can really affect our brains which is why people suffering from Coeliac disease will become aggravated easily due to their gluten intake.
So, my first tip to healthy living – have a balanced diet! I’m not saying stop eating Carbs, or Pizza. I’m saying eat the same amount of good stuff to counteract the bad. Have the same amount of white meat to your red meat. Don’t eat too much or too little chocolate. It’s pretty easy finding a balance, you just have to test it out for yourself!
Next, exercise. We all need to do exercise in our daily lives, if you’re not then it’s not going to help anything, whether it’s your mental health, physical health, or weight – not exercising is like giving up. However, you don’t have to do a drastic amount. 10 minutes a day to start off with, up it to 20 minutes, then to 30 minutes. Do 30 minutes a day and you’re sorted. I do around an hour because I’m really trying to lose as much weight as I can as fast as I can. But for those just wanting to feel better in themselves, 30 minutes is all you need.
And finally, self-love. I know this sounds really superficial, it usually does sound it, but self-love is super useful to feeling better in yourself, and it leads to a healthier mental health, which starts a chain reaction of you wanting to take care of yourself. There are many ways to show yourself some self-love. One way, that I do every two days, is to take a picture of myself for me. Not a picture that goes on social media or gets sent to someone, but a picture that I will keep on my phone for a few months. I may not look the best in them, I may look like a lazy slob, but doing it for yourself is vital to feeling better.
